Ajman Free Zone, Ajman Media City Free Zone and Magzoid magazine join forces to host event
Event part of free zone's UAE's Golden Jubilee celebration and support for culture and arts
December 9, 2021: As part of its celebration of the UAE's 50th National Day, Ajman Free Zone recently hosted the Artoze 2021 art competition in cooperation with Ajman Media City Free Zone and Magzoid magazine. The recently concluded competition provided artists and creators a platform to showcase their distinguished artworks featuring the country's 50-year journey towards progress and development.
More than 170 artists from 25 countries submitted their visual arts, paintings, sculptures and other masterpieces for the seven-day contest held in Marsa-Ajman. Their works received high praises from the spectators.
During the final round, Egyptian artist Alia Medhat was declared the winner by a three-member jury for her artwork that narrates the UAE's growth and progress over the past 50 years. She will receive full support to enable her to establish an art company at Ajman Free Zone.
The panel of judges comprised Emirati artist Adel Ali Alblooshi, Development Services Executive at Ajman Free Zone; Khalil Abdulwahid, Director of Fine Arts Department at Dubai Culture and Arts Authority; and Atul Panase, Artist and Curator and holder of a golden visa in the UAE.
H.E. Eng. Ali AlSuwaidi, Director General of Ajman Free Zone, said: “Recently, our country celebrated the 50th anniversary of its union and its entry to a new era of progress, growth and development in the next 50 years under one mind and spirit. To celebrate this milestone in the history of our nation, we hosted Artoze 2021 to highlight the important role of arts and culture and creativity in reliving our past and building our future. The art competition was organized to reiterate our firm commitment to the UAE's comprehensive and sustainable development process and show our support for artist entrepreneurs. Through Artoze, we also want to reaffirm our goal to help enrich the art and culture scene in Ajman and the UAE.”
AlSuwaidi further commented: “Artoze 2021 enabled artists, creators and other talents to display their artworks inspired by the UAE's unprecedented achievements over the past 50 years under the guidance of our wise leadership. We were honored to celebrate the 50th National Day in a uniquely creative way. Through this art competition, we at Ajman Free Zone demonstrated anew our commitment to raise the competitiveness of the arts and culture sector, which is an integral part of our cultural heritage and vital to our booming economy.”
Artoze is an international online art gallery that caters to international art events, virtual exhibitions, art magazines, and podcasts. It also supports student community, artists, schools, art galleries, small and medium companies, and global organizations.
