The Federation organises the “Year of Zayed Shotgun Championship 2018” and forms its new board of directors through to 2020

[Al Ain- United Arab Emirates, May 15, 2018] – The UAE Shooting and Archery Federation unveiled its new official corporate logo at a press conference held in Al Ain yesterday. The event was on the sidelines of launching the “Year of Zayed Shotgun Championship 2018”, attracting a number of dignitaries plus representatives of local and international media.

Organized by the UAE Shooting and Archery Federation, the Championship was launched on Friday 11 May on the fields of Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club. More than 40 competitors representing different clubs and sports bodies will take part in different tournament events scheduled to conclude on May 14.

“We have been very keen to design the federation's official logo to reflect our national values,' said Abdulla Al Zaabi, Secretary-General of The UAE Shooting and Archery Federation. “The logo has been inspired by the color of UAE flag. In addition, we also wanted to incorporate the various types of weapons used in shooting competitions.”

The logo includes pistol, gun, bow and arrow, added to highlight its different sport competitions and activities.

“ Mr Al Zaabi added, “This tournament is very special for all of us, as it bears the name of the nation's father the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. It also helps us to identify the distinctive skills of our promising national youth, attract them to infuse new blood into our national teams, and ideally represent the UAE in the future tournaments.”

The UAE Shooting and Archery Federation was established in 1992. Since then, it has registered many achievements, including numerous victories at local, regional and international levels. It raises awareness in various sporting events, and fosters young talent through specialised training and creating the best opportunities to improve skills and participate in competitions.

The federation is currently preparing UAE athletes to compete with international teams to get qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Supported by medal-winning champion, the teams are already looking in good shape.
