    The homecoming story of an endangered vulture with Turkish Cargo.

    Dubai, United Arab Emirates -  22 July  2019:   Carrying animals under the most real-like conditions in the skies, Turkish Cargo performed another life-saving transportation operation. An endangered griffon vulture, which started flying in Serbia and became exhausted in Şanlıurfa (Turkey) after flying 1600 kilometers long on its seasonal migration route, was carried to Belgrade by Turkish Cargo.  The 1.5-year old rare griffon vulture named Dobrila, the last chain of the ecological system and living in the Uvac canyon of Serbia only in Europe, became exhausted while flying towards the east on its seasonal migration route, and landed in Şanlıurfa.     Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre launches ‘Send to Space' competition

    Dubai, UAE, 14 July 2019:  The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), in cooperation with Emirates Post, launched a ‘Send to Space’ competition. The competition calls for sharing poems, short stories, and drawings to accompany Hazzaa AlMansoori on his mission to the International Space Station (ISS) on 25 September, to be broadcasted on-board.     Etihad Airways Recommences Flights to Khartoum

    Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates -  11 July  2019:   Etihad Airways will resume flights between Abu Dhabi and Khartoum, Sudan, on Tuesday, 16 July. Etihad Flight EY 632 will depart Abu Dhabi at 9.50am every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, arriving four hours later at 11.50am local time. The return service, flight EY 633 will depart at 12.50pm, arriving in Abu Dhabi at 6.55pm. The airline suspended flights to Khartoum on 9 June due to security concerns in the city. The safety of guests and staff is the highest priority for Etihad Airways, and the decision to resume services follows a detailed review of safety and security.

    UNESCO inscribes Azerbaijan's historic Centre of Sheki with the Khan's Palace to the World Heritage Site list

    Earlier this week, the committee added six cultural sites on UNESCO’s World Heritage List during their meeting in Baku 9th July, 2019:   The historic city of Sheki, located at a short 5-hour drive from the capital of Azerbaijan - Baku, was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List of cultural sites during the 43rd session of the committee’s meeting.     Passenger Demand Stays Solid but the Trend has Slowed

    Dubai, United Arab Emirates -  04 July  2019:  The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic results for May showing that demand (measured in revenue passenger kilometers, or RPKs) rose 4.5% compared to the same month in 2018. This was in line with the revised April traffic growth of 4.4% and above the recent trough of 3.1% year-on-year growth recorded in March. However, it remains below the 20-year average growth rate of around 5.5%.
