Now in its 39th year, The Big 5 stands tall as the largest building and construction event in the Middle East.

Over four power-packed days, The Big 5 becomes a hub for the regional and international construction community. Industry professionals gather here to discover the latest innovations, meet suppliers, source new and unique products, find local distributors and witness live demonstrations of the latest equipment and materials on offer.

Last year, thousands of advanced technologies and solutions covering the entire spectrum of building materials - including construction products and solutions -were exhibited by over 2,600 exhibitors from across 60 countries.

A brand new feature in 2017 was The Big 5 Talks, a series of knowledge-sharing sessions conducted by industry experts on the most current and relevant topics.

Co-located with the show, The Big 5 Solar was another outstanding addition last year. Dedicated to solar powered technologies, it brought together the latest and the most innovative products and services, serious buyers and investors, and industry leaders - all under one roof. As GCC countries aim to reach 10% of power production from renewable energy sources by 2020, The Big Solar is set to become a prominent platform in the Middle Eastern market.

Complementing Dubai’s drive towards a greener future, the Big 5 also features the Gaia Awards. The awards, having reached a 10-year milestone in 2017, are the industry’s most respected acknowledgement, honouring companies whose products and services demonstrate a reduction of construction impact on the environment. By recognising achievements in sustainably built environments, the Gaia Awards aim to inculcate a culture of responsibility towards the planet within the industry.
