Dubai, May 26, 2021: Al Maya Group, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Consulate General in Dubai, Thai Trade Centre, Dubai and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Dubai Office, has planned to launch a two-week ‘Amazing Taste of Thailand' at its Supermarkets with the aim to promote and increase the popularity of Thai cuisine and Thai food products.
This was announced by Mr. Kamal Vachani, Group Director of Al Maya Group. Mr. Vachani mentioned that the ‘Amazing Taste of Thailand' will begin on May 26, 2021 at selected Al Maya Supermarkets in Dubai.
Thai cuisine has various methods of cooking such as Tom (boiling), Yam (spicy salads), Tam (pounding), Gaeng (curries), Yang (grilling), Tod (deep-frying), Pad (stir-frying) and Neung (steaming).
“Al Maya Group is very excited for hosting a two-week ‘Amazing Taste of Thailand' at Al Maya Supermarkets in Dubai. Thai cuisine is quite popular in the UAE because of an amazing variety of food and styles of cooking. We hope this ‘Amazing Taste of Thailand' will be a huge success and attract a large number of Thai nationals as well as other nationalities,” Mr. Vachani said. We are importing Rice, Tuna, Coconut Water, Snacks, Long Life Milk, Coconut Oil, Tea, Curry Paste, Coconut Milk, Bean, Honey, Noodles and Vegetables from Thailand, added Mr Vachani.
“Thai cuisine has so many different flavours, colours and methods of cooking that's why the end result is an interesting mix with the range being as colourful as it is delicious.”
H.E. Chairat Sirivat, Consul-General of Thailand, applauded Al Maya Group for hosting the ‘Amazing Taste of Thailand' and mentioned that this important event would further enhance the strong business relations between Thailand and Al Maya Group as well as strengthen people-to-people ties between Thailand and the UAE as customers will get a chance to win 5 air tickets to Thailand, courtesy of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, when they shop Thai products at participating Al Maya Supermarkets during the ‘Amazing Taste of Thailand' event from May 26 – June 8, 2021.
H.E. Sirivat added: “This initiative will bring together Thai people and other communities in the UAE to explore Thai cuisine as well as a wide range of unique Thai food products.”
Al Maya Group, the UAE-based business conglomerate, has more than 50 supermarkets in the GCC countries in addition to other businesses.
