Medvarsity, Asia's largest healthcare EdTech company, is leading the transformation of healthcare education through technology-enhanced learning. On February 15th & 16th 2025, the company will host the AI Revolution in Healthcare Summit in Expo City Dubai. This landmark event will gather top medical professionals, tech innovators, CXOs, and government leaders to explore the profound impact of AI on healthcare. As the largest two-day AI healthcare summit in the GCC region, it will serve as a key platform for shaping the future of AI-driven healthcare.
In an exclusive conversation with Mr. Gerald Jaideep, CEO of Medvarsity Online, we delve into the vision and inspiration behind this groundbreaking summit.
1. What was the driving vision behind creating a summit specifically focused on AI's role in healthcare? What gaps or needs in the industry did you aim to address?
The driving vision behind the AI Revolution in Healthcare Summit, was to create a platform where healthcare professionals, clinicians, researchers, and AI innovators could come together to address the most pressing questions around AI's role in healthcare. We recognized that while many people are aware of AI's potential—especially in diagnostics, radiology, and clinical decision-making—there is still a significant gap in how widely AI is being applied in real-world healthcare settings. The summit aims to create a space where healthcare and technology leaders can engage with these tools, understand their practical applications, and explore how AI can help improve patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and healthcare delivery.
Our goal is to give healthcare professionals, particularly clinicians and decision-makers, hands-on experience with AI technologies and help them see how they can integrate these solutions into their practice. The summit will focus on the real-world impact of AI in improving care delivery, reducing patient visits, and solving complex health issues.
2. You being a global organization and spread across 190 countries, why was the UAE chosen as the venue for this summit?
We chose Dubai, UAE, as the venue for this summit because the UAE has been a global leader in innovation for many years. It is one of the few countries with a dedicated Ministry of AI and serves as a central hub for healthcare and technology professionals from around the world. Dubai's commitment to driving technological advancements, combined with its strategic location as a global healthcare destination, makes it the perfect venue for this summit. The UAE is also home to some of the most promising healthcare start-ups, which are developing solutions uniquely tailored to the needs of the region. Hosting the summit here aligns with our goal of creating a collaborative platform for global and regional healthcare leaders.
3. From your perspective as industry leaders, what are the most transformative ways AI is reshaping healthcare today, and what emerging applications do you see defining the next 5-10 years?
AI is already reshaping healthcare in profound ways, especially in radiology, imaging, and diagnostics, where it helps clinicians make more informed decisions faster. However, one of the most transformative applications we see is in precision medicine—using AI to tailor treatments based on a patient's genetic profile, medical history, lifestyle, and socio-economic background. AI has the potential to transform not just how we diagnose and treat patients but also how we manage healthcare systems and workflows, improving efficiency and patient outcomes across the board.
In the next 5-10 years, we expect AI to play an even bigger role in clinical decision support, robotics, telemedicine, and personalized healthcare. AI-powered tools will help healthcare providers reduce the burden of documentation, streamline operations, and ultimately improve the quality of care.
4. What concrete partnerships and implementation strategies can we expect to emerge from the upcoming AI Revolution in Healthcare Summit Dubai, particularly between healthcare providers, tech companies, and research institutions within the region?
The AI Revolution in Healthcare Summit in Dubai is designed to foster collaboration between healthcare providers, tech companies, and research institutions. We're introducing the Start-Up Spotlight Zone, where innovative start-ups from the UAE, KSA, and across the region will showcase their AI-powered healthcare solutions. This is a unique opportunity for healthcare organizations to engage directly with these start-ups, potentially leading to partnerships, investments, and technology implementations that will drive healthcare innovation in the region.
Additionally, we expect to see collaborations emerge between healthcare providers and research institutions, especially in areas like precision medicine and clinical AI applications. By bringing together the brightest minds in AI and healthcare, the summit will facilitate discussions on how these sectors can work together to address region-specific healthcare challenges.
5. What do you consider the most pressing challenges and opportunities in healthcare AI that this summit needs to address? How are you structuring the program to tackle these key issues?
One of the most pressing challenges in healthcare AI is the 'digital gap'—the gap between the rapid development of AI technologies and their actual adoption by healthcare practitioners. Many clinicians and healthcare leaders are aware of AI's potential, but they often don't have the tools, resources, or training to integrate these technologies into their daily workflows. Our goal for the summit is to bridge this gap by providing a hands-on, practical experience for attendees, allowing them to engage directly with AI technologies and understand how they can apply them in their work.
We're structuring the summit around four key themes to tackle these issues: AI for decision-makers, AI for clinicians, cutting-edge AI research, and AI start-ups. Each theme is designed to address different audiences and ensure that all participants leave with actionable insights and strategies they can implement in their practice or organization.
6. How have you approached bringing together diverse stakeholders—from clinicians and researchers to tech innovators and policymakers? What steps have you taken to ensure meaningful dialogue and concrete outcomes?
We've been very intentional about creating a platform that brings together a diverse range of stakeholders—CEOs, clinicians, researchers, AI start-up founders, and policymakers. By structuring the summit around four distinctive themes, we ensure that each group has tailored content that addresses their unique challenges and opportunities in the AI healthcare space.
We're also introducing interactive elements like hands-on workshops, panel discussions, and the Start-Up Spotlight Zone to encourage collaboration and networking. Our goal is to foster meaningful dialogue between healthcare leaders, tech innovators, and researchers, leading to concrete partnerships and actionable strategies that can be implemented in real-world healthcare settings.
