Dubai, UAE, 20 March 2025:

The Mohammed bin Rashid Library recently hosted a dialogue session featuring Her Excellency Azza Suleiman, centred around the book Lakanod by Islam Gamal. The book, which underscores the importance of gratitude and thankfulness, is particularly timely, as it aligns with the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan. This event forms part of the library's ongoing strategy to promote literary knowledge.

Moderated by Amira Al Farsi, Library Officer at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, the session delved into several key themes presented in the book. These included emotional honesty, philosophical inquiries, symbolism, the author's unique literary style, the diversity of characters, and the balance between philosophy and religion.

During the discussion, Her Excellency Suleiman highlighted emotional honesty as one of the book's central pillars, explaining how the characters' emotions are clearly articulated and resonate deeply with readers. She also noted that Lakanod raises important philosophical questions concerning life, faith, and destiny, encouraging readers to embark on a reflective journey to better understand themselves and their relationships with others.

Suleiman further praised the author's adept use of symbolism, which she described as a powerful tool for conveying complex emotions. This allows readers to uncover deeper meanings and enrich their engagement with the text. Additionally, she commended Gamal's distinctive literary style, which artfully combines simplicity with poetic depth.

The session also explored the book's portrayal of human diversity, with characters from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, all united by a common pursuit of truth and understanding. This diversity, Suleiman explained, enriches the book's human aspects and invites readers to reflect on their own lives through the experiences of others.

Moreover, the session emphasised the seamless integration of philosophy and religion in the book, illustrating how these two elements coexist harmoniously to deepen the reader's experience.

At the conclusion of the session, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library team distributed valuable books to attendees as part of their A World Reads initiative. This initiative has, to date, reached more than 250,000 beneficiaries across over 200 institutions, schools, and educational complexes in both public and private sectors throughout the UAE. It serves as a cornerstone of the library's mission to foster knowledge and cultivate the cultural landscape in the years ahead.

This dialogue session is yet another testament to the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library's commitment to enriching the cultural and literary environment, in line with its broader mission to build a well-informed and thoughtful society.
